FAQs - Let's talk about portraits ...

How do I find you?
We photograph our clients on location and then meet in their homes or coffeehouses to view the images. Online services are also available.
How long does a session take?
Depending on who and what we are photographing, a session will last 30 to 60 minutes. If there are special circumstances like napping images, it may last longer. Occasionally, children are just not interested, if this happens, rescheduling is our best bet.
When can I see the proof images?
Proof images are available 2-4 weeks from the session date. This also applies to weddings.
What is included in a session?
Our time.
So I don't get to keep the proof images?
No. Not with family or child sessions. Our wedding collections contain proof images.
What do you do with the proof images?
After your order is placed, we recycle them with our lab. They are available for purchase.
What about online viewing service?
Currently, we would contact you via email when the images are available with a link.
So when do I get my reprints and enlargements?
These are delivered 4-6 weeks from your order date. Holidays excluded. Because we use a local lab, we have some flexibility around the holiday time; however, they still have cut-off dates. If your order must be shipped, you must take into consideration the shipping time.
Why do you still use film? I thought all professional photographers used digital?
While there are great advantages to using digital technology, there is nothing quite like film. We have gone to great lengths to work with our lab to marry the intangible benefits of film with the benefits of technology. It is our professional experience that allows us to utilize the beauty of film instead of relying on the advancement of technology to make us look professional.

FAQs - Let's talk about weddings ...

What is your philosophy when you photograph a wedding?
Our philosophy when we photograph a wedding is to provide you with frozen moments. We believe that it is not the "days that we remember, but the moments." It is our goal to remain out of the way, and flow with your day, not to dominate your day with our agenda.
How would you classify your style?
Our "style" is a recipe of sorts. We blend photojournalism, and fashion, some contemporary portraiture, with a dash of commercial. We throw in art, and illustration and mix liberally with creativity. Bake in time and love for what we do and get our "style".
Do you always work as a team? Do you use an assistant?
We always work as a team. It is two photographers who photograph your wedding. Not one photographer and an assistant. We do bring an assistant as well to large or "complicated" weddings.
Do you travel?
Yes. Absolutely. Love to. Chat with us about travel arrangements.
How many weddings will you photograph on my wedding day?
One. Yours.
Do you attend the rehearsal?
It is not "standard" practice for the photographer to attend the rehearsal. But we can if you are concerned.
What happens to my proofs and negatives?
Proof images are yours to keep. Negatives are yours after one year. However, we still retain the copyright to the images, and may use them for promotional purposes.
How long does it take to get my proof images, cds and albums?
Proof images and cds are delivered 3-4 weeks after your wedding date. If you choose to design and order an album, it is delivered in 10-12 weeks.
Why do you still use film? I thought all professional photographers used digital.
We have chosen to remain true to film even though there are huge advancements in technology and in the world of digital photography. It has become common place for everyone, and we mean everyone, to have a digital camera. We can not argue the "coolness" of the digital world, but we feel our work is best represented by using the intangible beauty of film married with ever advancing technology. Your images can be scanned to cd or printed, thus bringing the past and future together, taking full advantage of art and technology.
What about online viewing service?
Online viewing is available as an additional service.
What is a "storybook"?
A storybook is the wedding album. We use the term "storybook" because we think of the images of your wedding as illustrations for your story.
